Vice President at TMP Technologies
Kirk Dorn is the Vice President at TMP Technologies, a multinational manufacturer operating in the specialty packaging industry based in Buffalo, New York, where he’s worked for nearly 18 years.
In 2006, Kirk joined TMP Technologies as Director of Business Development, where he was in charge of global business development for design to market manufactured rubber products and polyurethane products. In 2013, he stepped into his current role as Vice President, where he’s been helping drive the team toward success ever since.
Prior to joining the TMP Technologies team, Kirk Dorn worked with The Boston Beer Company for nearly a decade, where he joined the team in 1998 as an Account Manager. After two years in the role, Kirk advanced to Territory Manager. A year later, he was promoted to District Manager, and a year after that, he was promoted to Area Manager. From 2003 to 2006, Kirk worked as Region Manager, managing the distribution network for Sam Adams for 21 distributors throughout Northern California while overseeing a sales team of 11 reports. Before working with The Boston Beer Company, Kirk worked for a year with Telco Communications as an Account Representative.
As a professional, Kirk has amassed a number of skills within his industry, including product development, competitive analysis, professional mentoring, market planning, key account development, and strategy. He’s additionally skilled in sales management, strategic partnerships, marketing, sales operations, leadership, management, and new business development.
Kirk Dorn enrolled at The George Washington University in 1992, where he earned his BBA in Marketing in 1996. While a student, Kirk was a member of the rowing team as well as Sigma Alpha Epsilon, where he was Vice President from 1995 to 1996. In 2009, Kirk returned to academia, enrolling at the Buffalo School of Management at The State University of New York, where he earned his Executive MBA in 2011.
At present, Kirk Dorn is an active member of his community. He is a board member of the West Side Rowing Club, for which he previously served as President, and he’s been the Team Captain of Ride for Roswell for 12 years. Ride for Roswell is one of the nation’s largest cycling fundraising events created to raise money for Roswell Park, pay tribute to those whom we’ve lost from cancer, celebrate those who’ve survived, and find cures for cancer. To date, the event sees 45+ riders annually and has raised more than $250,000 for the cause. Kirk also works with Journey’s End, a nonprofit organization helping refugees with resettlement in Buffalo.
